Dear Fellow Braves Updated 1-5-2012
The year 2013, can it really be.........50 years this time? It seems like just yesterday we walked under the arches towards our future. We are so excited about our upcoming reunion and the fact that we are locating some alumni we haven't found in a very long time who are planning to join us next time! Reunions are not a matter of going back, they are about celebrating 50+ years of friendship........so very rare these days. As our dear Dr. Lundquist once said, "Your class of '63 was an exceptionally close class and the classes of '63 were the end of the "age of innocence". So very true. And what a blessing to be our age (in number only of course) and still be able to get together and celebrate - each other.
Our campus has undergone a lot of wonderful changes! The main change is the benches around the Sr. Lawn and other parts of the campus. They are in red or blue and many classes have purchased one (Including ours) with the year of their graduation on them. Take a look at our bench on "Post Your Pics Page"
We have local get togethers at Pernicanos every few months as a way to stay in touch with each other and enjoy this wonderful thing called friendship. The next one will be Coming soon. We look forward to seeing anyone who can make it to join the fun!
This is YOUR reunion and our goal is to make it a wonderful time for all of you. If you have any suggestions for us regarding what YOU would like to do at the reunion, or on Sunday, please e-mail Darlene, darlene.duffield@gmail.com, or Hazel, hmontague7gk@yahoo.com
We really appreciate your in-put. Thanks.
We are looking forward to seeing you Oct. 4,5&6 2013 , if not before!

It was my class reunion, and all through the house,
I checked in each mirror and begged my poor spouse
To say I looked great, that my chin wasn't double,
And he lied through false teeth, just to stay out of trouble.
Said that 'neath my thick glasses, my eyes hadn't changed,
And I had the same figure, it was just a mite rearranged.
He said my skin was still silky, although looser in drape,
Not so much like smooth satin, but more like silk crepe.
I swallowed his words hook, sinker and line
And entered the banquet feeling just fine.
Somehow I'd expected my classmates to stay
As young as they were on that long-ago day
We'd hugged farewell hugs. But like me, through the years,
They'd added gray to their hair, or pounds to their rears.
But as we shared a few memories and retold some class jokes,
We were eighteen in spirit, though we looked like our folks.
We turned up hearing aid volumes and dimmed down the light,
Rolled back the years, and were young for the night.
